Rockstar finally switched on the GTA VI radio, and the dial immediately chose violence.

Six stations. Eighteen songs in official previews. Metal, bachata, country, amapiano, glossy pop, and enough Southern rap to make every virtual trunk file a noise complaint. After months of people examining trailer waveforms like they were the Zapruder film, we finally have information that came from the company making the game.

Key points

  • Rockstar revealed six GTA VI stations on October 8, 2026.
  • The official previews contain 18 identifiable songs, three per station.
  • These are previews, not complete station playlists.
  • Rockstar says more radio details are coming.
  • On-demand podcasts can play in vehicles and on foot through connected headphones or earbuds.
  • Justice composed the original score.
  • Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album arrives November 19 with 34 original tracks.

Cocoteo FM

Modern Latin music hosted in-game by El Martillo and La Gata. Pitchfork identifies the performers behind those voices as Bad Bunny and RaiNao.

The official preview features:

  • Bad Bunny — “EoO”
  • Axel Rulay ft. Farruko & El Alfa — “Si Es Trucho Es Trucho (Remix)”
  • Romeo Santos & El Chaval de la Bachata — “Canalla”

This station appears engineered to turn a routine traffic violation into a municipal festival.

Back Country Radio

MW and Delta Dawne broadcast renegade country across the Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn. Pitchfork identifies them as Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey. Rockstar also introduces Mud Dog Mike, a roving reporter and swamp meteorologist who apparently reports weather from an airboat—the only acceptable form of journalism left.

The preview features:

  • David Allan Coe — “Need a Little Time Off for Bad Behavior”
  • Loretta Lynn — “Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)”
  • Hank Williams Jr. & Waylon Jennings — “The Conversation”

AfroBank FM

Burna and Palmsy handle a station spanning amapiano, African classics, 3-step, and more. Pitchfork identifies the hosts as Burna Boy and Palms Trax.

The preview features:

  • Asake — “Joha”
  • Pat Thomas ft. Ebo Taylor — “Gye Wani”
  • DJ Lag & Robot Boii ft. Kamo Mphela — “Shay'sana”

One preview, three eras of rhythm, zero patience for anybody still calling an entire continent a genre.

The Chamber 106.6

DJ Kerry and DJ Tom bring heavy and classic metal from the 1980s onward. Pitchfork identifies the duo as Slayer's Kerry King and Tom Araya. Subtle? No. Correct? Extremely.

The preview features:

  • Black Sabbath — “I”
  • Pantera — “I'm Broken”
  • Slayer — “Raining Blood”

The station frequency is 106.6 because somebody in the naming meeting showed restraint for exactly one decimal point.

Flash FM

The Vice City institution returns with Robyn and Alex behind the microphone. Pitchfork identifies Alex as model Alex Consani.

The preview features:

  • Charli xcx — “Good Ones”
  • MGMT — “Electric Feel”
  • Zara Larsson & PinkPantheress — “Midnight Sun (Girls Trip)”

Flash FM survived the 1980s, several console generations, and whatever fashion crime your character commits at 2:00 a.m. The pop machine remains undefeated.

Dirty South Classics

Trick and Trina host regional Southern rap and hip-hop classics. Pitchfork identifies them as Trick Daddy and Trina, which means the aliases department clocked out early and honestly made the right choice.

The preview features:

  • David Banner ft. Lil' Flip — “Like A Pimp”
  • JT Money ft. Solé — “Who Dat”
  • DJ Khaled ft. Trick Daddy, Rick Ross & Pitbull — “Born N Raised”

Podcasts escaped the car

Rockstar says GTA VI introduces on-demand podcasts that Jason and Lucia can hear both in vehicles and while walking through Leonida using headphones or earbuds connected to their smartphones.

That is not just menu decoration. It means audio programming can follow the player through more of the world, which gives Rockstar considerably more room for stories, satire, and fictional people confidently explaining things they absolutely do not understand.

The score and album are separate lanes

Justice composed the official score, including the standalone single “Flower in a Hurricane” featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

Rockstar is also releasing Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on November 19. It contains 34 original tracks, with nine currently listed singles from artists including Yung Lean, Travis Scott, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Justice, Morgan Wallen, Fuerza Regida, Rauw Alejandro, Cardi B, and Keith Richards.

That album is official. The station previews are official. Trailer songs are official promotional placements. Those categories are not automatically interchangeable, no matter how aggressively somebody labels a playlist “100% CONFIRMED.”

What is still unknown

Rockstar has not published the complete radio roster or complete playlists. These six stations are a preview of what Rockstar calls its biggest and widest-ranging in-game radio selection yet. More stations and more songs are expected, but Cutscene FM will not mark them confirmed until the receipts arrive.

Cope Level: 2/10. The metal crowd got Slayer, the pop crowd got Charli xcx, and the country station has a swamp meteorologist. Complaining now would require professional certification.

I changed stations once and the radio powerbombed my aux cord through the announce table.
